Upcoming Theater Productions - October 201010/24/10 1:18amEmily EllisWith every semester come a variety of Columbia and Barnard theatre productions. In the few couple of months, two plays and two musicals will debut on-campus: The Physicists, Silence, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and Urinetown. The Physicists opens on Thursday, October 21st at 8:00PM in the Minor Latham Playhouse, 118 Milbank Hall. On Friday, October 21st there will be a post-show discussion and reception, and the show will begin at 8:00PM. On Saturday, October 23rd, there will be a 3:00PM show as well as an 8:00PM show. The Physicists is directed by Barnard faculty member Alice Reagan, and is about three scientists—Einstein, Newton, and Möbius—stuck in an insane asylum for believing themselves to be history’s three most brilliant minds. Tickets are currently available on CUArts. Next to open is Urinetown, with shows on November 18th, 19th, and 20th at 8:00PM and a 2:00PM show on Saturday. Directed by Columbia ’12 Hillary Kritt, this comedy musical tells a story of greed, corruption, revolution and love during a terrible water-shortage that leaves citizens having to “pay to pee.” Tickets will soon be available on CUArts. Silence and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum will debut in December, and information about performances will be available at a later time. |
