Crash on Broadway10/28/07 9:36pmAvi EdelmanWe’re here at the scene of a crash just minutes ago at 114th and Broadway. A car and a taxi cab collided; there doesn’t appear to be any serious critical injuries, although some people have been taken away on stretchers for possible head, neck, or back injuries. The crash occurred just before 8 pm, right outside of Columbia on Broadway. The sound of the collision was heard by many students, who gathered at the scene and at their windows to see what was happening. A taxi cab and another car were involved in the crash, with major damage sustained by both vehicles. Police and ambulance were at the scene within minutes, and closed down the intersection to traffic. It is unclear how many passengers were in the two vehicles; several people were back-boarded and taken away in ambulances to be treated for possible head, neck, or back injuries. Other victims were able to get out of the cars on their own and suffered only minor injuries. It did not appear that anyone was evacuated in critical condition. |
